BAKER BEACH ON LOCKDOWN! Signs posted on the gate on the lower lots read: "Baker Beach is closed due to the federal government shutdown." However, over a hundred people were walking along the beach, including a few down at our spot on the north end. The lower lots and restrooms are to remain closed as long as the shutdown remains in effect, according to the Federal cops who remain on patrol. If you can walk or ride a bike, you're fine going to Baker. Car parking in the upper lots and along the road is going to be a total cluster fuck.
